Thread

You may provide your own batting or purchase batting from me.

Hobbs 80/20 Batting

I stock Hobbs 80/20 Cotton Blend batting.

Price: $0.40 per linear inch used

Batting charges are based on the length of batting used from the roll and help cover material costs and unavoidable waste.

If you choose to provide your own batting, it must meet the backing size requirements listed below.

Batting

Edge-to-edge quilting includes your choice from my current library of quilting designs.

If you request a quilting design that is not currently in my collection, an additional design purchase fee may apply.

Most specialty digital quilting designs range from approximately $10–$20 and will be discussed and approved before purchase.

Quilting Designs

Backing fabric must be at least 4" larger than the quilt top on all four sides.

Example

  • Quilt Top: 50" x 50"

  • Minimum Backing: 58" x 58"

More backing is always appreciated and makes loading the quilt easier.

If providing your own batting, batting should also extend at least 4" beyond the quilt top on all four sides.

If your backing needs to be pieced, please contact me before shipping your quilt.

Additional charges and backing fabric may be required depending on the project.

Backing Requirements

Before shipping your quilt, please:

✔ Press your quilt top and backing

✔ Trim loose threads from the front and back of the quilt top

✔ Ensure backing and batting meet size requirements

✔ Include a note card inside your package with:

  • Full Name

  • Phone Number

  • Return Shipping Address

This helps me properly identify your quilt when it arrives.

Quilt Preparation Checklist

Quilts will be trimmed after quilting unless otherwise requested.

If you prefer your quilt not be trimmed, please let me know before quilting begins.

Trimming

Typical turnaround time is approximately 2–6 weeks after:

  1. Your quilt has been received.

  2. We have discussed and finalized quilting design selection.

  3. Thread colors have been selected.

Turnaround times may vary based on retreat schedules, travel, holidays, and current quilting volume.

Turnaround Time

Please place all quilt materials inside a clean white trash bag before packing them in a shipping box.

This provides an extra layer of protection against moisture and weather-related damage during shipping.

Customers are responsible for all shipping costs to and from my studio.

While I take every precaution when packaging quilts for return shipment, I am not responsible for packages that are lost, stolen, delayed, or damaged once they have been turned over to the shipping carrier.

Shipping Instructions

An invoice will be sent once quilting is complete along with photos of your quilt.

Payment is due prior to return shipping.

Quilts will not be returned until payment has been received in full.

Payment

To ensure a reasonable turnaround time and maintain balance with my retreat and teaching schedule, I accept a limited number of quilting projects each month. I’m currently accepting up to 5 quilting projects per month.

Once monthly quilting availability is full, additional projects may be placed on a waitlist until the next available opening.

Thank you for allowing me to help finish your quilt. I am honored to be a part of your quilting journey and look forward to helping bring your project to life.
