There’s nothing better than a cozy handmade project that’s both functional and fun and that’s exactly what we made during this week’s Sunday Sew-Along! Whether you’re warming up a bowl of soup in the winter or enjoying some cold ice cream in the summer, this bowl cozy is the perfect way to protect your hands and add a pop of handmade charm to your kitchen.

This quick, beginner-friendly sewing project is a great scrap buster, easy to personalize, and makes a fantastic gift idea for friends, teachers, neighbors, anyone who loves comfort with a touch of handmade.

Supplies You’ll Need

Here’s everything you’ll need to make one bowl cozy:

• Bowl Cozy Templates in 6 sizes

• 100% Cotton Fabric – 2 squares, 10" x 10"

• Wrap-N-Zap 100% Cotton Batting – 2 squares, 10" x 10"
  Use microwave-safe batting like Wrap-N-Zap

• Cotton Thread

• Pinking Shears or Rotary Pinking Shears

• Sewing Machine

• Iron

• Point Turner

• Fabric Clips & Straight Pins

• Rubber Mallet (optional)

• Ruler

✅ Note: Be sure to use 100% cotton for everything if you plan to microwave your bowl cozy!

Skill Level

Beginner-friendly – If you can sew a straight(ish) line, you can make this project! It’s a great first project if you're just learning or want something quick and satisfying to sew.
